Zero, Box-Office Collection Day 5: Santa Claus Does Not Bring Much Cheer To Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina And Anushka On X-Mas
Things only marginally improved for Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer Zero on Christmas. This does come a surprise because films usually receive higher footfalls on a national holiday
After the Monday blues, we thought that Zero, which stars
Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, will pick up considering that
every film drops on a Monday. In fact, the idea behind SRK releasing the film
on December 21 was to capitalise on Christmas. It is said that he called up
Karan Johar to say that he wanted Zero to release on December 21 and hence, the
producer shifted Simmba to December 28.
We are wondering why Shah Rukh did not use 14th as its release date as it could have got a free run even then. No points for guessing, 21st gave him an extra Tuesday. Alas! It has not gone as per plan. On Day 5, Zero collected Rs 12.75 crore. Surely, this is not the number that SRK or even the maker Aanand L Rai was looking out for. If not the average Rs 20 crore of Fri-Sat-Sun, they must have at least expected somewhere close to it. This has come as a setback to the final verdict of the film in terms of box-office.
Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s collections and wrote, “#Zero witnessed growth on Day 5 [#Christmas]… Day 6 [Wed] and Day 7 [Thu] biz crucial... Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr, Sun 20.71 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 12.75 cr. Total: ₹ 81.32 cr. India biz.”

Zero Movie Review
The film started with mixed reviews, but on a high note at
the ticket windows. Now, we do not know how much it will eventually finish at –
but one thing is for certain, Tuesday did not bring much Christmas cheer to
team Zero. The exceed of Rs 3 crore over Monday, which was a working day, is
hardly anything to shout about.
